Hardware

NComputing offers several different access terminal options to meet your specific needs. The L-series products connect to the shared PC over standard Ethernet networks using the NComputing User eXtension Protocol (UXP). This enables users to be any distance from the shared PC, whether it's in the same building or in another city!

L-series access devices connected to Windows XP machines can support configurations with up to ten users per PC. L-series terminals connected to Linux or Windows Server operating systems can support configurations with up to thirty users per PC. Public access, business, government and manufacturing applications benefit from the flexibility of the L-series products including USB flash drive support with the L200 and L230.

The X-series products offer the lowest per user cost and connect directly to the shared PC via a standard UTP cable up to ten meters in length. X-series products support configurations with up to seven users per PC. Schools and businesses looking for the lowest absolute cost for computing access are ideal applications for these products.

Software

All NComputing access devices include the terminal services software needed to share the shared PC (Linux and Windows operating systems must be purchased with the PC or separately). NComputing also offers optional software tools that further simplify the management of your system.

NControl allows teachers and administrators to remotely monitor what students are doing on their terminals from a single station. Teachers can also send warning messages and even take control of students' computing environments if they use improper applications.

NShield enables an administrator to easily "roll-back" the shared PC's operating system and installed software to a default state. This is ideal for schools and public access applications where user changes are to be temporary. This also helps protect against unwanted viruses, malware or failed software installations.

Partner Products

NComputing has partnerships with various Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) who integrate NComputing technology into their own products. These products are featured on the Partner Products page.
